Even though I tend to be less than acquisitive about my works, I still have a few rules that I expect to be followed. This usage policy covers all items found on Oceanflare.net and is divided into three sections, based on type: artwork, content and code.
Artwork
Artwork, including graphics, illustrations, digital and traditional paintings, drawings or sketches, may be used in one or any of the following ways:
- Sample galleries: If you'd like to use a selection of my artwork in an online gallery, you are welcome to use up to five pieces of your choosing.
- Web layouts: An illustration or a portion of an illustration can be used in web layouts.
- Forum icons: An icon for use in an online forum, including websites such as LiveJournal, may be created from a portion of any of my artworks.
Policy
If you intend to use artwork created by myself in one or any of these ways, you must follow these rules:
- Contact me: Before using artwork you must contact me and let me know not just that you'll be using my artwork, but also how and where you will be using it.
- Copyright: Both in text on the website and within the original image, this copyright notice must be displayed: © Aeryvae. Exception: Considering the small size of most forum icons, a copyright notice need not be displayed in the actual icon.
- Link back: A link back to Oceanflare.net is required. A text or banner link is acceptable. You can find banners here.
You may not use any and all of my artwork in the following ways:
- Print publishing: Transforming my artwork into a physical medium, whether by print or otherwise, is not allowed. In some cases, including offline art shows, special permission may be granted. Please contact me.
- Use of website layouts: No website layout employed for use on Oceanflare.net may be used on any other website.
Content
None of the content on this website, excluding artwork, may be used in any way, online or offline. The only exception occurs in cases of fair use of the content, such as for educational, review, commentary, or parody purposes.
Code
Snippets - small pieces - of code, including scripting, programming, CSS or hypertext code, may be used freely. Larger sections require a disclaimer, including a a copyright notice—© Oceanflare.net—that must be displayed within the code near to the code itself or a summary of how or where the code was used. A link back to Oceanflare.net would be appreciated, but is not neccessary.
