Mizuki drags Nakatsu off to interogate him about his returning to his hometown. Nakatsu tells Mizuki he'd made a promise both to his parents
and an old friend. To his parents, he'd promised he'd continue the family business; but he also made a pact with his friend to reach
the national soccar team. Although his friend moved to Germany, Nakatsu and he promised to keep their pact. Unfortunately Nakatsu's mother
is completely against the soccar idea. Mizuki talks to Sano and Umeda's sister Io about Nakatsu's predicament and gets a lot of conflicting
views on the subject.
Eventually Mizuki bumps into Nakatsu's mom, who latches on to her and takes her out for lunch. The two get along well, and Mizuki learns a few embarassing tidbits about Nakatsu in the process. She finds out Kanoko thought she was female, and worries about her too-feminine appearance. Later, Mizuki can't look Sano in the eye...but not for long, as Sano presses her until she admits Nakatsu formally told her he likes her. Sano gets upset, confusing Mizuki...and making her worry that Sano's found out she actually likes him! She wonders if he's found out she's a girl, and asks if she's feminine, receiving a very surprising response: Sano likes her, and would like her whether she was male or female. Though he says it as a friend would, Mizuki wonders...
Nakatsu worries about confronting his mother, getting surprise support from none other than Sano. Meanwhile, Mizuki talks to Umeda about
what Sano said to her. Umeda's shocked yet again at how dense Mizuki is...Elsewhere, Nakatsu's mom shows up unexpectedly. Sano and Mizuki
catch them going into a restaurant and follow them in, eavesdropping. Mother and son fight about Nakatsu's future, and when Nakatsu doesn't
budge and his mother threatens to sever their relationship, Mizuki can't help but step in. Kanoko leaves and, alone with Mizuki, reveals
she wasn't serious, that she'd just wanted to make sure Nakatsu was serious.
Mizuki's still tormented about what Sano said. After talking to Io, she regains her confidence. Later, Nakao spots Nanba with a beautiful female, not knowing she is none other than his mother. The next day, certain students are freaking out over the upcoming Valentine's day. Nakao pulls Mizuki aside and tells her he's finally going to confess to Nanba. The two go shopping for chocolates, and Mizuki buys one "for herself", while really planning to give it to Sano.
On Valentine's day, Nakao pulls Nanba aside. After giving him the chocolates, he confesses and is, of course, rejected. Nakao makes the
best of it, but later breaks down while Mizuki comforts him as best as she can. Elsewhere, Nanba is feeling guily about making himself
appear so perfect as to attract Nakao's attention. His friend quickly knocks the idea out of his mind. After his ordeal, Nakao is slowly
recovering, and tells Mizuki she should give out her chocolates. Mizuki struggles with the idea. But when she meets up with Sano to walk Yuujirou later,
she gives him the chocolates. Embarassed, she rambles out an explanation until Sano stops her...and Yuujirou jerks out of their grasp
and runs into the waiting arms of a young girl.
The young girl is Miku, Yuujirou's (previously "Lucky") original owner. Apparently after moving her mother decided to get rid of Yuujirou, and as a result Miku ran away from home. Miku's parents show up, and Yuujirou must decide whom he wants to stay with...and choses Mizuki. Miku returns with her parents and a new puppy, ready to be loved by its owner. Sano and Mizuki make to return to the dorms, and Sano takes hold of Mizuki's hand...
