Valentine's day is fast approaching...and Nakatsu is feeling more and more nervous, although he gets the courage to ask Mizuki
to his football game. At the game, Sano meets up with a new high jumping rival with a bad attitude, champ Kagurazaka Makoto. When
he taunts and insults Sano, Mizuki reacts, ranting at him about Sano's greatness, but accidently using the female wording in the
heat of the moment (note: the Japanese have gender-specific word usages). Although her identity isn't revealed, Kagurazaka
begings to suspect there's more to Sano and Mizuki's relationship than mere friendship...
On Valentine's day, much to her chagrin, Sano is given a gift from a female fan. Although he rejects the gift, Mizuki begins to worry. Later, Doctor Umeda consoles her, telling her to reveal her feelings and identity to Sano. Mizuki opts against the latter, but decides she can show her feelings in other ways, despite her current male form.
On the way out, she runs into Kagurazaka, who manhandles her until an angry Sano appears and saves her. Kagurazaka then claims Sano
as his rival, warning he will do whatever it takes to defeat Sano. Before Kagurazaka can stomp off, Mizuki let's out one final insult,
calling him a "short-legged fox" and sending Sano into fits of laughter for the rest of the day!
Later, Mizuki reminisces to Yuujirou about how Sano inspired her...not knowing Sano is just around the corner, hearing everything she's saying. Sano interrupts, pretending he didn't hear a word, much to Mizuki's relief, and the two head to the high jumping field. Although out of shape, Sano gives his best, making the jump but toppling the high jump bar. Worried, Mizuki stops him before he can continue.
To improve Sano's morale, Mizuki plans a party. Everyone gets plastered, including Sano...who's notoriously known as a "kissing fiend"
when he's drunk! The rumour turns out to be truth, and Mizuki loses her first kiss to a drunken Sano! Mizuki gives the drunked Sano
a good wallop and runs off, finding herself in tears at what's happened.
Mizuki's feeling rightfully uncomfortable around Sano...On top of this, someone's been playing practical jokes on her, including putting thumb tacks in her shoes and leaving hate notes. Despite this, Mizuki remains optimistic. Then Sano finds out Kagurazaka's broken his high jumping record! Sano, however, is undeterred...Things are looking up, until Mizuki recieves a letter, informing her that her brother is coming to visit!
Mizuki finds out who's been playing the practical jokes bordering on threats... and it's none other than the school's top idol, Naoko. But Naoko's got his own secret...a secret infatuation for dorm head Nanba. Knowing they're alike, Mizuki becomes determined to befriend the somewhat prickly bishounen.
When he arrives, Mizuki enlists the help of Umeda to remake her into a girl, since her brother doesn't know the circumstances
surrounding her living in Japan... But her brother finds out, and is not happy about it. He orders Mizuki to come home, but she
fights back until eventually he tells her that if Sano can high jump for the upcoming tournament, she'll be allowed to stay in Japan.
Mizuki's brother doesn't stop there, though, going as far as to call Sano a failure. Angered, Mizuki tells her brother she hates him.
Meanwhile, Mizuki's brother meets with Umeda, who tortures him with his gayness - even kissing him! - until Mizuki's brother is so disoriented he's able to see just how much Sano means to Mizuki.
Wanting to put him out of the competition, Kagurazaka taunts Sano, pointing out he's obviously not ready to compete. Desipte his words, Sano is determined to not let Mizuki down, and says so while she and her brother look on.
At the competition, Sano is feeling immense pressure...but against all odds, he makes the jump! Tearful, Mizuki embraces Sano. Kagurazaka
comes by and recognises Sano as a competetor. And Mizuki's brother Shizuki leaves her a note, telling her to visit once in a while. Mizuki
can stay in Japan!
