Volume 18

Nakatsu asks Mizuki to replace Sano with himself, but both he and Mizuki know whom she loves. Still, Nakatsu promises to be there for her, no matter how painful it is for him. Sano regrets being a jerk, but avoids Mizuki when he gets back to the dorm. The next day he talks with his brother and finds out Mizuki had met their father. Shin gives Sano the same advice Mizuki did: to go talk to their father. Then, Sano Takehiko shows up, telling Sano to give it his all for the match...

Nakatsu's slowing recovering from his crush on Mizuki. Sano's practicing and doing an excellent job, but all his thoughts are centered on Mizuki. Just as Mizuki gathers the courage to confront Sano, she meets up with Shin and finds he's already left...but then someone tells Shin his father's at the hospital! Mizuki rushes back to the dorm, but Sano won't budge...

Interlude! During the last week of winter vacation, a treasure-hunting competition was formed. But a high school priest named Noboru Ichijo has singled out Kayashima, challenging him to see who has the greater "abilities"! Eventually he runs off and the hunt continues...with Noboru, Kadoma and Mizuki (and their respective teams) being the final contendors. After cheating a bit, Noboru ends up the winner...of a lot of tokens for sweets! (What a prize...)

Sano won't go to the hospital, no matter what Mizuki says. She leaves, and he thinks back to when he was a child, the good times and the bad times, when his father relied on drinking and even physically harmed Sano when he didn't meet his expectations. But the good overwhelms the bad, and Sano burts out of the dorm...only to find Mizuki waiting for him. Sano races to the hospital and sees his father. They talk and forgive. Sano returns home to a waiting Mizuki.
