Welcome to the about page, otherwise known as a nice, hearty serving of infodump. Take it with a spoonful of sugar, if you must! Carrying on... Oceanflare.net is a mixture of artistic content and fan content: it's what resulted in the eventual (and cataclysmic!) merging of my personal, art-oriented domain, Endeixis.net, and my fandom-based domain, Aerospark.org. Websites range from online galleries, web layout archives, joinable listings, and fansites dedicated to characters and series, with a good dose of madness dashed throughout. (Did I say madness? I should think fanaticism would do, but on second thought, perhaps the terms are synonymous when used in any description of this domain and its digital dominions. Yes, indeed.)
For the curious (and for the benefit of my failing memory. Ahem), a chronological history of my websites can be found here, while a list of upcoming sites can be found here. I hope to expand the content on Oceanflare.net both in quality and quantity and revive older projects in the years to come.

domain name
A lot of (read: a bit more than minimal) effort was put into deciding on the domain name “oceanflare.net”. To start, I came up with a list of possible domain names, cross-checked to make sure they weren't already taken, and finally polled a selection of people to find out which was best liked. Those polled were asked to choose four names from the list and rank them in order from most liked to least liked based on three (or perhaps more—did I mention my terrible memory?) qualities: word choice, pronunciation and overall loveliness. Oceanflare.net ranked top, and so I choose it.
Taking a lesson from the usability disaster that was my previous domain name (Endeixis.net) I felt I could do nothing less than make sure that my new domain name would be a wee bit more user-friendly: that it would be easy to remember, easy to spell, and pleasant both in how it sounds and looks to a good deal of people, if not the majority.
network name
The name is one Tales of the Abyss fans will likely recognise—I shamelessly swiped it from Guy Cecil's roster of artes. I'm not sure if I'm
100% in love with this one, but it'll stay as long as my creativity is unforthcoming. After a good swag of months heading this domain, I can think of no better
moniker for its network than crescent strike, if only because it calls to mind two of my great loves: the astral pearl that is our moon, and
a certain dashing, swash-buckling, blond-haired, blue-eyed, tear-jerkingly devoted, gynophobic-and-yet-incomparably-debonair should-have-been hero.
